Collection: Focus on China

Welcome to part of the Liverpool Confucius Institute (LCI) first photography exhibition, Focus on China. This collection is on show from 3pm on Oct 15th 2021 at Liverpool Confucius Institute, 126 Mount Pleasant, L69 3GR. The in-person exhibition also includes photographs by our partner university Xi'an Jiaotong University XJTU, showing ancient and modern aspects of Xi’an. From the ancient Xi’an City wall and gates to modern cars and trains, these images give a real sense of what a fascinating city Xi’an really is. It is wonderful to be able to share a window into life in Xi’an where our partner university XJTU is located. 

In the in-person and this online collection, guest photographer, Confucius Board Member, President of the Liverpool China Partnership and former Lord Mayor of Liverpool Gary Millar presents a collection of images he took in China, along with his image of the iconic Liver Building in Liverpool. Gary’s images are from across China, taken during diplomatic delegation trips which have helped attract lots of positive Chinese business investment into Liverpool, including into our universities and hospitals.
